Manu is a key researcher in the area of Power Systems and Reliability at Electric Power Group.  At EPG, Manu has been involved in the development of various real-time reliability monitoring applications for the power industry.   He is participating on the Eastern Interconnection Phasor Project and development of Voltage/VAR Management and System Stability Applications Using Phasors.  His research interests include:

Power System Dynamics Monitoring and Control

Phasor Measurement Technology

State Estimation

Electricity Markets

Prior to joining EPG in 2003, Manu was at Cornell University where he proposed innovative mathematical models to understand power system dynamics on a global scale and further validated these models via computer simulations.  While at Cornell, he was also actively involved in the research and development of new pricing schemes for the electricity markets based on optimization concepts.

Manu is an expert in signals and systems theory and has successfully applied these concepts to the oilfield services industry and the electric energy industry.  Over the years, he has published many conference and journal papers and made several presentations in the area of power systems.

Manu received his B.S. degree summa cum laude in Electrical Engineering in 1997, his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1998 and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2003 all from Cornell University.
