From 1996 to 2002, he was a Senior Engineer in the State Estimator software development group at Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution, San Jose, CA. His research interests include:

State Estimation

Voltage Collapse

Locational Marginal Pricing

Investigation of Oscillatory Instabilities

Matthew has a Ph.D in EE from Cornell University, NY and a B.Tech (hons) in ECE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He was a faculty member at Clarkson University, NY from 1988-1991 and a visiting faculty member at Harvey Mudd College, Claremont, CA in 1992.
