Matthew is the Technical lead in the CAISO Voltage
Security Assessment project. Prior to joining EPG, Matthew was Manager,
Operations Applications at Tennessee Valley Authority, Chattanooga, TN, from
2002 to 2004. He was part of the team that successfully implemented the first
operational State Estimator at TVA. From 1996 to 2002, he was a Senior Engineer
in the State Estimator software development group at Siemens Power Transmission
and Distribution, San Jose, CA. His research interests include:

Matthew has a Ph.D in EE from Cornell University, NY
and a B.Tech (hons) in ECE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
He was a faculty member at Clarkson University, NY from 1988-1991 and a
visiting faculty member at Harvey Mudd College, Claremont, CA in 1992.
Before joining Siemens, Matthew was a Research Fellow
in the EECS department at the University of California, Berkeley from 1993 to
1996. At Berkeley, he was involved in the investigation of voltage collapse and
sub-synchronous oscillations as part of a three year EPRI research program.
