Electric Power Group provides management consulting services to the electric power industry.  EPG’s expertise and focus is in the areas of competitive electric markets, power system operations, transmission, reliability management, independent system operators and resource planning, management policy and strategy, and power contracts.

Lawrence Berkeley National Lab - Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions (CERTS) – working on real time grid operations and reliability management tools for performance monitoring, assessment of market rules and their impact on reliability and market performance and investigation of blackouts such as 2003 Eastern Interconnection break up.
  Eastern Interconnection Blackout – supported the U.S. – Canadian Power Systems Outage Task Force to investigate root causes of the blackout. August 14, 2003
  North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) reliability standards and functional models.

 

Assessment of six Independent System Operators (ISOs) operating in the U.S. in terms of organization, market rules, functional responsibility.
