Margaret has over 27 years experience in the electric energy industry and is currently a consultant with Electric Power Group, LLC.  Margaret is responsible for the assessment of Department of Water Resources (DWR) net short/remaining need forecast; and the development of strategies for managing DWR’s contract portfolio, as well as acquiring additional capacity/energy from firm power options and spot markets. 

Previously, Margaret was Manager of Energy Forecast in Corporate Financial Planning, Treasurer’s Department for Southern California Edison (SCE).  Margaret had 20 years of electric generation planning experiences. Margaret's responsibilities included:
 

 

Integrated Resource planning activities for SCE. She trained and mentored many planning engineers and financial analysts

Development and implementation of an automated ISO/PX market monitoring system enabled efficient analyses of market performance as well as provided timely evaluations of market participation strategies

In charge of corporate efforts in market fundamental simulation studies to forecast market prices and performance. Supported corporate efforts in the development and execution of market risk mitigation programs

   
 

Margaret also had 8 years of power plant operation experience at SCE:

Worked in power plant water chemistry and waste treatment management; and developed in-depth understanding of power plant operation

Designed and implemented a pilot wastewater treatment process to successfully demonstrate the effectiveness of this process which saved the Company over $30 million in compliance cost for the Clean Water Act

Margaret received a B.S. in Chemistry from University of California, Davis in 1968, a M.S. in Chemistry from University of California, Los Angeles in 1971.
