Song is responsible for analysis of reliability metrics and grid performance for NERC standards development and performance monitoring. Her work on reliability research and development of real-time monitory applications is for a Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions project at Electric Power Group.

Prior to joining EPG in 2004, Song was at Texas A&M University where she developed and implemented mathematical models to simulate physical processes. She is an expert on data processing and statistical analysis involving the use of Matab and SAS.
