Previously, Jim
was Manager of Energy Control
Center and System Operations at
Southern California Edison. Jim
led Edison’s team to implement
California’s competitive market
structure with the Independent
System Operator (ISO) and Power
Exchange (PX). He has 30 years
of operating experience in the
electric industry. Jim has
performed, supervised or managed
every function related to power
systems operation including
dispatch, scheduling, training,
protection, and reliability
management.
Jim has been
active in many of the Western
Electricity Coordinating Council
(WECC) and North American
Electric Reliability Council (NERC)
committees and task forces, as
well as implementation of the
ISO and PX structure in
California. Jim has chaired and
played an active role in WECC
and NERC Committees, including:
